The FDA Company makes its 2017 Showcase debut with a Newsies themed performance.
Extra, Extra! Read all about it! The 2017 Freestyle Dance Academy dance season is complete with another incredible showcase by the Freestyle Dance Academy dancers! All of the dance classes from the Chalfont based dance studio took to the stage at Temple University’s Ambler campus, and rocked the theatre in front of a full audience on Saturday and Sunday. At the conclusion of every dance season, Freestyle Dance Academy presents the “Freestyle Dance Academy Dancer Showcase,” and the 2017 Freestyle Dance Academy Dancer Showcase was one for the books. With all dance styles represented, including hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap, breaking (“breakdancing”) and more, the crowd was treated to a fun, energetic weekend full of shows, with plenty of memories created by the Freestyle Dance Academy dancers.

Not only was the afternoon filled with tricks & technique from the dancers, but with some emotion as well. Freestyle Dance Academy celebrated the finale of the dance studio’s 5th season of operation, complete with: a #Free5tyle hashtag for social media, a Snapchat Geofilter, a custom photo area and more. The festivities included a surprise montage (featuring the FDA dancers), which recapped the past five years, for studio director Tony. FDA also celebrated the graduation of North Penn Class of 2017 member, Kyle, who has been dancing with the studio since the opening of Freestyle Dance Academy in 2012.

Another special highlight from the 2017 FDA Dancer Showcase included the debut of the Freestyle Dance Academy Company. A pre-professional performance group, the FDA Company represents the studio around the Philadelphia region. These dancers are among some of the most dedicated at the studio, who wish to pursue dance as a career in the future. While the company members already hold performance credits that include the Philadelphia Union, 76ers, Penn State hockey, Peddlers Village and more, this was the first time that most of the studio’s other dancers & families had the chance to witness the group perform live on stage.

Some of the cast of Freestyle Dance Academy hit the stage during the showcase weekend as well! Mr. Tony joined Brady on stage for a duet to Justin Bieber’s “All Around the World,” while Ms. Alexis & Ms. Colleen joined Sammy for a tap dance trio that blew everyone away.

The 2017 edition of the Freestyle Dance Academy Dancer Showcase was another outstanding performance. All of the dancers lit up the stage, and put on a show that the entire audience enjoyed. From the youngest dancers, to the most experienced, the stage was filled with talent, smiles & excitement. As the dance studio concludes its fifth dance season, there is already a buzz building about next year at Freestyle Dance Academy!
